This projectile launcher is designed to demonstrate two dimensional motion and how motions in each dimension are totally independent from one another. This precision apparatus allows for repeatable results that can describe the projectile's motion. Projectile range, vertical height, and time of flight are all easily equated. Firing a marble off of a counter top can model a canon shooting off of a cliff and the sturdy stand and clamp allow for accurate velocity readings at the push of a button from the BeeSpi photogate to make the physics modeling accurate and fun. Remote marble release trigger with stable base for launcher.

The BeeSpi detects an object passing through two points about 40mm apart via built-in photo sensors and indicates the velocity of the object in digital form. Infrared sensors located in two spots on the inside walls of the unit detect the time when an object passes each spot. As a result, the velocity of the object, calculated from the difference in time, is indicated.
