Hunt for various kinds of microorganisms - including bacteria, fungi and protists - in water, air, soil and even food, employing a ready-to-use growth media. The specially formulated gel, which requires no autoclaving or special equipment, makes it easy for students to design experiments that explore the subvisible world around them, collecting and identifying a wide variety of microbes. The investigation also includes a dichotomous key to molds, bacteria, and protists; a specially formulated dried Microlife Mix that allows you to explore the diversity of pond organisms; and a guide to appropriate viewing techniques.
