Understand the chemical basis of food content.

Explore how the chemistry of food affects our body's nutrition. Your students will analyze food content using quick, easy and completely safe chemical reaction tests. They'll analyze the content of all of the major nutrients in common foods, including carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and vitamin C. In the process, the class will learn important lessons about balanced nutrition, digestion and absorption of food, caloric content and the maintenance of good health.
