Air Core Solenoid with Variable Turns

Comprising of a coil of insulated copper wire around a plastic cylinder. The solenoid consists of one ground terminal and five positive terminals; each corresponding to either 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 rotations of the coil. The user selects one of these terminals to establish the number of solenoid coils. This device can demonstrate the concept of electromagnetic induction by moving an iron magnet through the coil back and forth to induce an electric current. In addition, an electric current through the coil can induce its own magnetic field. A voltmeter, multimeter, ammeter or power source can be attached to the terminals. Base dimensions 5.1 x 7.9 inches (13 x 20 cm).

*Please note that a very strong magnet must be used to induce an electrical current that is detectable by a ammeter, voltmeter or multimeter.
